The Cornbread Brothers Blues Band and Nightclub Orchestra featuring Rex Bongo on lead guitar and vocals and Ray Gunn on bass guitar and vocals. The Brothers have been a fixture on the Fort Myers scene for the past five years. Their forte is classic rock and blues, but they're also well versed in classic soul and R & B, country, and southern rock, as well as possess an extensive repertoire of eclectic originals.
Rex honed his style playing in countless bands in Central Florida.
He received his first guitar from his father at the tender age of seven and has been playing ever since. From garage bands to national touring act, Bounty Hunter, Rex has played it all. He loves playing festivals like the River and Blues and the Blues festivals at the World Famous Buckingham Blues bar, and is ecstatic to be a part of the 4th annual Bonita Blues Festival.
Ray Gunn paired up with Rex Bongo in Sebring almost a decade ago and
the two have been rocking central and southwest Florida ever since. Ray originally hails from Pittsburg, where he toured with Norman Nardini and the
Tigers, opening for such acts as Pat Benatar, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, and Triumph. He made his way around the North East where he did early recording sessions with the New Jersey rocker, Jon Bon Jovi. With thirty plus years experience, he is the heart of the sound of the Brothers, providing solid bass lines for Rex to rip on.
