Home The Bands Frank Corso
Frank Corso
Frank Corso has been playing country blues and ragtime guitar for many years. Centering himself in the Delta style slide guitar in the tradition of Robert Johnson and the Mississippi Delta players, he is just as comfortable playing Ragtime and East Coast Piedmont styles such as Reverand Gary Davis and Blind Blake. He presents it all in an energetic style of his own.

He primarily plays National Steel guitars and flattop guitars that he has built himself, although when working with a band he then plays early Gibson and National hollow body guitars. He is also an accomplished Old Time Clawhammer banjo player and plays with several Old time musicians in that style. He has shared the stage with many premier blues acts through the years such as Dave Van Ronk, John Mooney, J. Geils Band, Steve James, Taj Mahal, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, John Hammond, Paul Geremia, Paul Rishell, Jimmie Rodgers, Marcia Ball and many others. He has played most of the major Northeast Blues festivals and continues to play in coffeehouses and music venues throughout the Northeast and Florida. He has also performed throughout Northern Italy.

He is a three time award winner of the New Hampshire Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and has three CD's out with his acoustic country blues ensemble Roll and Tumble. He has been included as a guest artist on many other Blues and compilation CD's. He is currently at work on a solo CD project of country blues and originals, which should have a Spring/Summer 08 release. Frank is also a internationally recognized landscape painter, with his paintings hanging in private and corporate collections around the world and is represented by Fine Art Galleries and Dealers nationwide.
